A study app for Ghana's JHS and SHS STEM curriculum that keeps working when the signal doesn't.
Nkwadaa STEM puts the JHS (Basic 7–9) and SHS (Year 1–3) STEM subjects on a student's phone: readable chapters, interactive labs, quizzes, BECE practice, a glossary and a scientific calculator. Once it is installed, the chapters, quizzes and labs work without internet, so students can keep studying when their data runs out. Nothing is required to read, learn or practise: you do not need an account.
Many students study on weak phones with very little data. The app was built to be light, to work offline, and to put a whole syllabus in one place, so that a good study tool does not depend on a good connection.
Nkwadaa STEM is designed, written and maintained by Marcus Perry Agbolosu. It draws on curriculum documents published by NaCCA, which remain the property of their owners.
Email marcusperryagbolosu@gmail.com if you are a teacher or school who would like to use the app with a class, if you have found a mistake in a chapter or question, if you want to ask what data is held about you or have it deleted, or if you would like written permission to use anything from the app.
